I don’t want to tell everything about me or what would we have to talk about later, but  So you don’t have to ask everything. Here is a quick run down on me and what I am into. If you want to find out more email or Instant message me sometime and we can chat. I am pretty much online when ever I am awake and near a computer.

In case you want to know what I look like. The photo to the left is one of my most recent self portraits. I took it testing out some new gear. That is about the only time I get in front of a camera as I prefer using them.

I stand about six feet tall, weigh around two fifty. Depending on my lifestyle and job at the moment determines exactly how much over or under and how much is muscle or fat. While I am a pretty good size guy and not in the best shape, I do try to keep myself looking my best and never let myself get too big.  I am working on getting back trim, but have not been slim since elementary school.

I have been told I have beautiful blue eyes and while my natural hair color is blonde these days it has thinned and darkened up. I either keep it trimmed short or shaved completely. I rarely keep my face shaved clean as I prefer the way I look in a neat beard or Van Gogh occasionally sticking with just a trimmed moustache.

I am single and hope to find the right lady, but I am not interested in Cyber or one night stands.  So if that is what you want don’t bother wasting your time or mine.

I am not actively searching for romance because right now I am at the age where I have to put myself first and not only get my head on straight I need to lay the foundation for the rest of my life. I am doing so by trying to get on my feet financially, emotionally and once they are taken care of then I will focus on Romance.

When I am with a woman she is a top priority. In fact that is one reason I have had to put romance on the back burner. This way I can get some things squared away and then be able to devote my attention to the lady in my life and hopefully in the near future start working on a family of my own.

I am a Photo hobbyist, which means while I am getting my career started in photography and feel I have moved past being a novice amateur despite my love for it, but I do not feel comfortable calling myself a Professional Photographer just yet.  I have always had an interest in photography and in recent years realized that while it may have not been what I dreamed of doing, hopefully it was what I am destined to do.  I shoot for fun and it along with the occasional shoot to pay for my hobby it takes up a lot of my time trying to learn all I can as well as perfect my skills. I have grown a lot due to my teachers, friends, colleagues and subjects, but still see room for improvement and plan on doing all I can to be the best I can be.

While I love Photography and it takes up a lot of my time it is not the only thing I enjoy.   I truly Love Music, Movies and pretty much all of the Fine Arts.  I love to cook and am pretty good as long as I have a decent recipe to start with. While I can not take credit for most of the  ones I cook there are even a few that I came up with myself and several I have modified over the years.

For those that are wondering about where I came up with the name BamaCowboy it is a pretty simple story.  My grandfather raised cattle for as long as I can remember and I have always been more comfortable in boots and jeans than shorts and sneakers.  I never lived in Texas and we used an old Dodge Dart instead of a buckboard to haul hay. I loved helping my grandpa Bates stack and haul hay. I dodged quite a few meadow muffins and even went with him a few times to the slaughter house to really see where hamburger and steak comes from.

Back in high school when I really started finding my identity the cowboy in me started coming out more so and has stuck around. While these days you are more likely to see me in a ball cap and silk shirt instead of a Stetson and button down denim the folks that have known me more than a few years still have a hard time getting past me not wearing my old Charlie one Horse and boots.

A few wise guys started calling me Cowboy  and then some friends tagged me with the nick name and it stuck. pretty much same way ranch hands got it back in the 1800s.  Lot of folks to this day still call me Cowboy and when I got online and started messing round in AOL Chats, specifically the Cowboys Hideout and Alabama rooms I tossed out my old generic name AOL came up with and came up with the shortened version BamaCwby. Nearly a Decade later the BamaCowboy is still riding the trails and kicking up dust. So when I felt it was time to separate my Personal and Professional sides of my website I felt it was fitting to stick with what some of my oldest online friends know me by.
