Captain Morgan Cream Soda

If you like cream soda's or Captain morgan this is a good drink. It is fairly easy to make and if mixed right it comes out tasting like a cream soda with one hell of a kick. Best of all despite being a pretty good drink it doesn't leave you with a bad hangover.

Start out with a highball glass
fill 3/4 full with ice
pour in 1 shot 1.5oz of Captain Morgan's Spiced rum
fill with 7-up (sprite will also work but tastes varies a little)
squeeze one quarter slice of lime preferably about 1/4 inch thick
shake or stir

I ran across this a few years back and it has become one of my favorites

Since the captain’s cream soda went over well I dug into my recipes and grabbed another of my favorites. The Purple Hooter is another one of the local favorites and I learned this one at the hand’s of the top bartender in town .The recipe is for making a pair of shots, but this is one of those drinks that can be made easily  whether you are making shots, drinks or pitchers. Usually whenever we make them at the local bars we make them by the gallon. For those that need exact measurements local law states a shot is 1 ½ oz and from experience a splash is approximately a tablespoon.

Purple Hooter

Shot of Razzmatazz, vodka

Splash 7-up and sours

Fill with cranberry, chill and serve strained as shots or over ice in rocks glass

Purple Hooter

Start out with a drink mixer or martini shaker if one is not available two plastic cups that will fit together works fine

Fill with ice

Pour in a shot of Razzmatazz; can substitute Chambord Raspberry Liqueur

Add shot of Vodka; any will do but Absolut works best. I haven’t tried any of the flavored vodkas in this recipe so experiment at your own risk, LOL.

Add a splash of 7-up; sprite can be substituted

Add splash of Sour mix

Fill with Cranberry

Shake, strain and pour

Tequila Colagallo

You always got the old stand by tequila drinks, but I found a few new ones recently that I thought I would share. Personally nothing goes better on a wild weekend then a straight up shot of Cuervo Gold chilled nekkid or as Shiver shots, but if you want something to sip on and are tired of Tequila Sunrises. Margaritas or Long Islands here is one that might be just right for you. I just ran across this recently and am sipping on one right now, it is called:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila (Casa Noble Aged is preferred, but Cuervo Especial or better will work fine)
  • 8 oz Coca-Cola
  • Juice of 2 Lemon
  • 3 pinches Salt
  • Ice cubes

Mixing instructions:

Pour lemon juice into glass. Add ice cubes. Add salt. Pour tequila and stir to blend. Fill with Coke

Alternative

Instead of Lemon juice substitute with shot 1.5oz of Rose’s sweetened Lime Juice.

Another alternative is instead of serving over ice can mix in a blender with shaved ice for a frozen drink during the warm months.

Gin Buck

Mix juice of one half lemon and shot of Gin

Pour into rocks or old fashioned glass over ice

Fill with Ginger ale and serve

Death wish

Can be served as double shot (half shot of each) or slammer drink (using full shots illegal in most bars, but fine at home)

Layer Grenadine, Goldschlager, Jeigermeister and 151

If done properly should resemble a candy cane with alternating colors dark and light with each liquor getting less intense with each shot 151 going down first followed by jeig, gold and chased by grenadine. Has an intense taste and more intense kick

Hard Rock Cafe Orange Freeze

Serves 1 as a dessert or beverage.
Here's a quick recipe for the dessert drink served at Hard Rock Cafes all over the world. With only a few ingredients you can make this one super-quick in the blender. Great on a hot day. And it's easy to double or quadruple to serve more.
2 cups orange sherbet or sorbet
1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
 1/4 cup milk
 1 sprig fresh spearmint
 1. Put the sherbet, juice, and milk in a blender and blend for 15 seconds or just until the sherbet is smooth. You may have to stop the blender and stir the sherbet up a bit to help it combine.
 2. Pour the orange freeze into a tall, chilled glass. Place a sprig of fresh spearmint in the top and serve immediately.
